Dow Soars more than 1,050 Points, its Biggest Point Gain in History

Lets Go.
While we don’t normally post live charts a market rally like today’s rally warrants it. Scroll through the chart history you will not find a +1,050 gain in the history of the DOW.

Santa hands the Grinch his hat.

Stocks climbed back from their scary Christmas Eve plunge as all three indexes posted epic gains.  The Dow Jones industrial average soared more than 1,050 points in the late afternoon. The biggest point gain in history as stocks snapped a four-day losing streak.   Wednesday’s preliminary 4.96 percent climb in the S&P is the best Dec. 26 on record, replacing the 3.06 percent gain record set in 1973.

The Bollinger Bands hinted at the market being oversold (See break of lower bands on chart) so, although positioned in expectation of a bounce we were not expecting this. Thank you, Santa.
